New member welcome
From BayTeam
If you're a new Bay Team member, welcome to the club. Here's some useful information.
Contents |
Bylaws, policies, and so on
- If you haven't already read our Bay Team bylaws, please do.
- Many of our policies are posted here online; see Portal:Club policies and forms.
- Please attend our meetings; calendar of past and future meetings is at Bay Team meeting minutes.
Your fellow club members
- Meet our current Bay Team Board of Directors.
- See what other club responsibilities are filled by whom at Bay Team contacts.
- We have photos and postings about our members, their dogs, and their achievements and activities; visit Portal:Members.
- Read some fun details about your fellow club members at cool canines and Bay Team rescue stories.
- You automatically get a bayteam email name, which redirects to your regular email. That's your first initial plus last name (at) bayteam (dot) org, such as jsmith@bayteam.org.
- Read our Bay Team email policy.
- You are automatically included in our club announcements email list (all (at) bayteam (dot) org), and can post to the list as well.
- You can optionally join other informative Bay Team mailing lists.
Web site (bayteam.org, where you are now)
- We automatically add new members and their dogs and titles to our Bay Team members and dogs pages.
- After that, it's up to you to keep it up to date yourself or to notify us about changes.
- Our main web site is a wiki. If you're a logged-in member, you can edit it, so you can change your own dog information--or any other page, for that matter!
- If you're interested in doing any editing, the webmaster would love it. See Help:Contents for more info.
- You might have to ask the webmaster for a wiki username and password.
Forums (http://www.bayteam.org/forums/)
- We try to remember to give you a forum username and password when you join.
- Anyone can view our public forums without logging in, but the Members Only forums are visible only to logged-in members.
Your business
- If you are an agility instructor, you get a free listing on our Bay Teamers offering agility classes page.
- If you provide some other agility-related service or product, you get a free listing on our Bay Teamers offering agility products or services page.
Other stuff
- You can borrow books, magazines, or videos from the Club's extensive Bay Team library of agility and training materials.
- You can be on our agility trial committees to earn free entries into Bay Team trials; see trial committee compensation and Portal:Events.
- You are invited to our annual post-holiday bash party and awards potluck, where you could be in the running for Bay Teamer of the Year and other awards, and where everyone can get an attractive certificate listing their dog's accomplishments for the year.
- Linked In members can join The Bay Team group on that site.
